OGE Discusses Role of Financial Disclosure as a Conflicts Prevention Tool at World Bank Conference

December 3, 2014

OGE's Chief of the Ethics Law and Policy Branch, Seth Jaffe, and Chief of the Presidential Nominations Branch, Deborah Bortot, will discuss at a World Bank conference how the U.S. executive branch uses financial disclosure as tool to prevent conflicts of interest. During their panel, they will also discuss how financial disclosures may be used in prosecutions. OGE's presentation is part of the Third Biennial Meeting of the World Bank Group's International Corruption Hunters' Alliance which will take place in Washington, DC, December 8-10, 2014. The 2014 meeting of the Alliance will focus on fighting corruption - and the vast illicit outflows generated by corruption - by sharing know-how and experiences in the use of both traditional and alternative corruption fighting approaches. It will bring together heads and senior officials of corruption investigating bodies and prosecuting authorities, anti-corruption experts, academics, and representatives of international organizations from over 130 countries.
